Alglo Butter
Born from
a mother's need.
The Beginning

A seasonal rash.
A remedy that worked.

It started with a phone call. Her mom had developed a stubborn seasonal rash — the kind that wouldn't quit, no matter what she tried. So she went back to basics: pure aloe vera, freshly harvested, applied straight to the skin.

Three days later, it was gone.

"You should sell this," her mom said. And that was the beginning of Alglo.

From Plant to Product

The pulp was a lot.
So she started straining it.

Working with raw aloe is messy, beautiful work. The pulp came first — thick and fibrous. She started straining it, extracting the pure gel underneath. That became the Alglo Vera Gel: clean, cold-pressed, nothing else added.

Then she started experimenting. She saw posts about infusing shea butter with aloe, and something clicked. She went to beauty supply stores first, sourcing the shea butter in small batches. Then she found a way to buy it in bulk online.

How the line grew
The gel. Strained from fresh aloe pulp. Pure moisturizing gel, nothing synthetic.
The butter. While making shea butter, she met a woman who changed the whole approach — she started whipping the aloe directly into the shea. That became the Alglo Butter.
Scents & oils. She added essential oil scents to the butter, then began infusing carrier oils with aloe. The Alglo Oil was born — potent for dry skin and brittle hair.
A store in downtown Newark. She started sourcing from a shop in downtown Newark — keeping the brand local, keeping it rooted. Their oils are less potent than the shea butter, but every ingredient is intentional.

What aloe vera
actually does

Aloe contains over 75 active compounds — vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and amino acids. Here's what each one means for your skin, hair, and body.

01
Deep Hydration

Aloe vera is made up of over 99% water, but it's the mucopolysaccharides — long-chain sugars — that lock moisture into the skin. Unlike surface moisturizers that sit on top, aloe penetrates all three layers of skin, delivering hydration where your cells actually need it.

02
Anti-Inflammatory & Soothing

Compounds like bradykinase, C-glucosyl chromone, and acemannan reduce inflammation on contact. This is why aloe clears rashes, calms eczema flares, and relieves sunburn — it's actively signaling your skin to stop the inflammatory response, not just masking it.

03
Wound Healing & Repair

Aloe stimulates fibroblasts — the skin cells responsible for producing collagen. It also contains glucomannan and gibberellin, two growth factors that accelerate cell regeneration. This is what makes it effective on scars, stretch marks, and post-irritation skin.

04
Vitamins A, C & E

These three antioxidant vitamins work together to neutralize free radicals, reduce oxidative stress, and slow the visible signs of aging. Vitamin C brightens, Vitamin E seals in moisture, and Vitamin A (retinol) promotes healthy cell turnover.

05
Hair & Scalp Health

Aloe's proteolytic enzymes repair dead skin cells on the scalp, reduce dandruff, and condition each hair strand from root to tip. Its alkaline pH also helps rebalance scalp pH, which reduces breakage and restores shine — especially important for brittle or chemically treated hair.

06
Antimicrobial Protection

Aloe contains six natural antiseptic agents: lupeol, salicylic acid, urea nitrogen, cinnamonic acid, phenols, and sulfur. Together they inhibit the growth of fungi, bacteria, and viruses on the skin's surface — making aloe especially effective for acne-prone, sensitive, and easily infected skin.

Find Your Match

Aloe for every
skin type

All three Alglo products are made from the same organic aloe vera base — but each one is formulated differently to work best for different skin needs. Here's how to choose.

Oily Skin
Gel is best

Aloe vera gel is water-based and non-comedogenic — it hydrates without clogging pores or adding oil. If your skin tends to get shiny or break out, the gel is your go-to. Apply a thin layer as a moisturizer morning and night. It absorbs fast and leaves no residue.

Dry Skin
Butter + Oil

Dry skin needs layers. Start with the Alglo Vera Gel to deliver deep water-based hydration, then seal it in with the Alglo Butter — the whipped shea locks moisture in for hours. For very dry areas (elbows, heels, hair), add a few drops of the Alglo Oil on top.

Combination Skin
Gel + Butter

Zone it. Use the lightweight gel on the T-zone and oilier areas. Apply the butter to drier patches — cheeks, around the nose, anywhere tight or flaky. The two products complement each other and can be mixed in your palm for an all-over balance.

Sensitive / Reactive Skin
Gel first

Aloe's natural anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties make it one of the safest options for reactive skin. Start with just the gel — no fragrance, no added oils — and patch test on your inner arm first. Alglo's formulation is free from harsh preservatives, making it gentle enough for eczema and rosacea-prone skin.

Hair & Scalp
Oil is best

The Alglo Oil was designed with hair in mind. Aloe vera infused into carrier oils delivers proteolytic enzymes directly to the scalp, repairs brittle strands, and restores moisture balance. Apply to damp hair before styling or as an overnight treatment for deeply damaged hair. The butter also works as a leave-in for natural hair.

A note on potency: The oils in Alglo's line are less concentrated than the shea butter base — intentionally. The butter is the workhorse. The oil is the finisher. Both are organic. Use them together for the best results.
